Under the reign of King Fahd bin Abdulaziz, further upgrades were made to Maqam Ibrahim. The previous metal frame was replaced with a high-quality brass structure, while an inner mesh plated with gold was added. The earlier concrete foundation, made of black granite, was substituted with pristine white Carrara marble accented with green granite, matching the marble used in the Hijr. A newly designed crystal dome, weighing 1.750 kg and standing 1.30 meters tall, was introduced, replacing the older polygonal shape with a more refined and modern design.

The Maqam stone itself is now encased in a protective silver alloy frame, displaying crafted imprints symbolizing the original footprints of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him).
